Rebekah Plotkin

Director, Center for Professional and Workforce Impact
Rebekah Plotkin joined University College in 2021 and serves as the inaugural Director for the Center for Professional and Workforce Impact. Rebekah is responsible for overseeing the fulfillment of the Center’s vision, including research, partnerships, and educational programming aimed at creating and maintaining a future ready workforce. In this capacity, Rebekah leads efforts to develop educational products and platforms across Tufts, including a platform for awarding micro-credentials, workforce aligned workshops and short courses, and degree programs. She works closely with industry partners to align programming with identified current and future workforce needs in close collaboration with others at Tufts. Prior to her work at University College, Rebekah worked at Tufts School of Engineering, designing, innovating, and launching in-person and online master’s programs for STEM leaders.
Before joining Tufts, Rebekah spent 10+ years in international development, focused on economic development. She was a Vice President at Grassroots Business Fund, an impact investment fund focused on supporting high growth businesses through access to capital and management training. At Grassroots, Rebekah led operations, including a global expansion, donor-backed capacity development programming for portfolio companies, and strategic initiatives. Rebekah earned an M.B.A from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in International Studies from American University.
