Committees
The Executive Board is the principal governing body and has primary responsibility for formulating and implementing Institute policies. These policies shall conform to the Bylaws then in effect and with University policies and regulations. The Executive Board is responsible for oversight of all standing and ad hoc committees. It appoints the members of all standing and ad hoc committees except as noted elsewhere in the Bylaws. More information on the Executive Board roles can be found here.
It is the mission of the Tufts Osher LLI Curriculum Committee to support the overall mission of the program by recruiting and nurturing enthusiastic, knowledgeable, motivated volunteer study group leaders and to search out and to develop a stimulating, diverse and appealing curriculum for each program term.
The Lunch and Learn Committee is responsible for planning and managing the educational content of the weekly Lunch & Learn series, including recruiting presenters and publishing a schedule of topics at the beginning of each program period.
The Membership Committee assists the Director, the Executive Board, and other Institute committees on matters regarding the development and retention of the Institute's membership. Membership Committee members play a vital role in making sure that new members are oriented and welcomed into the program.
The Nominating Committee, at each Annual Meeting of the membership, presents a slate of candidates for Chair and Vice-Chair of the Executive Board, At-Large members of the Executive Board, and members of the Nominating Committee as required by the expiration of the terms of those currently holding these positions. Alternate nominations to those presented by the Nominating Committee shall be accepted from the floor.
