Join Tufts Pre-College this summer and choose from 1, 2, or 3 week intensive programs on a content area of your choosing. Whether you are a student looking to learn more about a new field before entering college, or you have a passion for a certain area of study that you want to dig into before making a commitment to a career, we have an option for you!

Marketing Essentials

Adventures in Veterinary Medicine

The Adventures in Veterinary Medicine High School Program is an engaging and fun way for high school students to spend two weeks learning more about the veterinary profession. This is your opportunity to dig into veterinary medicine through an exciting and intensive program where you’ll be surrounded by others who share your passion for animals, health, and science.
- Explore specialty fields and important topics in veterinary medicine through informative lectures by Tufts faculty, staff, and vet students.
- See what it’s really like to be a vet as you shadow fourth-year veterinary students in the Foster Hospital for Small Animals, the Hospital for Large Animals, or the Tufts Wildlife Clinic.
- Get up close and personal with the animals on the Cummings School Farm while learning proper animal handling techniques and performing physical examinations.
- Build your vet skills! Practice bandaging and suturing, learn how to read x-rays, give a clinical exam to a dog, and work as a team to solve a challenging medical case.
- Participate in hematology and anatomy labs, meet various working animals, visit a dairy farm, and more!

In the Tufts Lab Science Investigations: Antimicrobial Resistance, you will become a researcher working to understand the challenge of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and antibiotic stewardship. As a student researcher in Lab Science Investigations: Antimicrobial Resistance, you will have a uniquely immersive experience with the One Health approach that recognizes that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment.

The Tufts Entrepreneurship and Innovation Bootcamp is a two-week-long immersive experience for high school students interested in learning how to solve big societal problems through new venture creation. This bootcamp is an in-person, synchronous experiential learning experience open to students all over the world. No prior entrepreneurial experience is necessary – all that’s needed is a drive to make a difference and have impact in the world.

Engineering Investigations will provide students with an overview of the different disciplines within engineering to broaden their understanding of the field and highlight the multiple ways engineers work and impact the world. Participants will hear from researchers, students, and industry professionals about their work in research, design, and entrepreneurship. In addition, participants will be engaged in learning methods and approaches for engineering design, exploring engineering ethics and its intersections with ethics and social justice, and applying these ideas through hands-on projects.

In this program, you'll examine the "how" and "why" of engineering problems and projects—the best way to understand how engineering actually works. Think you want to be a doctor? This summer our popular Mini Med School intensive programs are back, with more offerings and richer experiences than ever before. Mini Med School is for driven students who are interested in medical school or in other health professions. Our programs present the opportunity for you to study with one of the nation's leading medical institutions—Tufts University School of Medicine—either on-campus or from your home! Whether you choose to participate virtually or in person, your experience with Tufts this summer will prepare you for your prospective future in the medical world.
Mini Med School is taught by medical students and faculty, primarily from Tufts University. While the programs focus on infectious disease and immunology, other topics covered include anatomy, surgery, diversity in medicine, and career guidance.
