Course Description
The course provides a fundamental understanding of the primary and key principles of unsaturated soil mechanics. The course covers stress state variables, soil-water retention properties, soil suction measurements, hydraulic conductivity, effective stress, shear strength, and volume change theory in partially saturated soils. The course is intended for seniors and graduate students with backgrounds and interests in geotechnical and geological engineering, soil science, environmental engineering, and groundwater hydrology.
Basic Enrollment Requirements: Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.
