Course Description

Design and analysis of structures that support wind turbines. Topics include steady state & turbulent winds, drag & inertial effects from waves, turbine rotor induced loadings, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, turbine control, dynamic response, metocean conditions, and seabed properties. Focus placed on a hand-based process for the selection, design, and assessment of offshore wind turbine support structures. Validation of designs using computational models.

Basic Enrollment Requirements: Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.
