Pulp and Paper Short Course - 02

Delve into the realm of papermaking in this four evening intensive workshop. Students can expect to learn both eastern and western style sheet forming with collage and pulp painting techniques. The short course will consist of processing fibers, straining pulp, and drying multiple sheets. We will go over chemistry and how to replicate what we do at home. The studio is stocked with a large wet vacuum table, mould and deckles, vats, and more! Students will be required to pick up their paper pieces after the last day of the program.
Note: Participants should plan to pick up any projects/art work that require additional dry-time on either Friday, March 22 between 9:00am–5:00pm or on Monday, March 25 between 9:00am–5:00pm. Alternate arrangements for project pick up may be available upon request.

Materials: All necessary materials will be provided.

This section is also open to high school students who are 11th or 12th grade students. High School students who enroll will be prompted to submit an additional application after enrollment including: a high school transcript, letter of recommendation, parental permission, and other required consent forms.
