A monoprint is an individual, one-of-a-kind print that can be made from a variety of traditional plates (metal, wood, cardboard, plexiglass, or other nontraditional surfaces). In this workshop, students will learn how to monoprint. Demonstrations will include: mixing inks, hand-wiping, rolling techniques, and overprinting in multiple colors and plates. Students will learn how to make and print their own plates using carborundum, gum transfers, and chine collé. Open to all levels, no printmaking experience required. Participants must bring their own shop towels and gloves. All other materials will be provided.
