Medical Spanish

Course Description

Overview of the practice of medical interpretation in Spanish. Building skills in communication, ethics, and medical vocabulary, while exploring cultural and advocacy questions. Opportunity to practice interpretation in a simulated medical setting. Class discussions include role-play, cultural readings, vocabulary expansion, videos, and film. Conducted in Spanish. Prerequisite: Spanish 22 or consent of the instructor.

Basic Enrollment Requirements: Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.
