Course Description

The focus will be on topics such as safety system design, error analysis, factors that contribute to errors such as fatigue and design flaws, as well systems to mitigate agains mistakes. We’ll address the larger system databases and explore how to use accident data to conduct investigations and other research to create improvements in safety within larger systems. The field of safety systems covers a wide range of high hazard industries including all modes of transportation, power generation, medicine, construction and manufacturing.

This is a virtual synchronous course that follows the published schedule of course meetings and requires attendance at all sessions. Tufts virtual courses are designed to provide high-quality, flexible, and interactive courses to Tufts and visiting students.
