Course Description

Broad exposure to the interdisciplinary nature of responses to climate change. Sources and behavior of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere; mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; adaptation strategies for reducing climate change impacts on humans and the environment. Low carbon fuels, sea-level rise planning, management, geo-engineering, economic and policy considerations. Emphasis on local examples and on project-based learning. The course is open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Recommendations: CHEM1 or CHEM11 Enrollment Requirement: Junior Standing

Basic Enrollment Requirements: 

Academic Year (Fall/Spring): Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.

Summer: None.
