Course Description

Theory, research, and practice focusing on emotionally supporting hospitalized youth and their families . Interventions aimed at improving adjustment to chronic, acute, and life-threatening illnesses in pediatrics. Approaches include therapeutic play, expressive arts, behaviorism, medical education, and bereavement counseling. Prerequisites include: Junior, Senior, or Graduate standing.

Basic Enrollment Requirements:

Academic Year (Fall/Spring): Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.

Summer Session: None.
