The Calculus Primer - B
MATH 0010 - B
Course Description
This course is about using elementary mathematics and computing to solve practical problems. This is a field of study called Mathematical Modeling. This class will be driven by studying real-world questions where mathematical models can be used as part of the decision-making process.
Neither calculus nor linear algebra are prerequisites for this course, however methods and ideas from both of these foundational subjects in mathematics will be introduced and motivated by the material in this course. Other mathematical and computational tools, such as elementary probability, elementary combinatorics, and computing (in Python or Matlab), will be introduced as they come up.
