Bioelectricity
EE 0123
Course Description
(Cross-listed with BME 123) Fundamental physical basis of bioelectricity; understanding its role in various living organisms. Action-potential creation and transmission in the nervous system. Analysis of the heart as a distributed, highly fault-tolerant electrical system. Potential bioelectrical role in morphogenesis (creation of bodily shape). Application of engineering concepts to understand molecular processes associated with biolelectricity.Prerequisites: MATH 42 and (PHY 12 or ES 3), or graduate standingAffiliated With:
