Course Description
The first in a series of courses on the use and study of American Sign Language (ASL), the language that is widely used by Deaf and DeafBlind Americans. Immersion approach to language learning Emphasizes basic expressive and receptive conversational skills. Includes basic ASL vocabulary, grammatical structures, and conversational behaviors, storytelling, and an introduction to American Deaf culture and DeafBlind communication. Attendance at events in the Deaf and DeafBlind communities is required. High demand.
Basic Enrollment Requirements:
Academic Year (Fall/Spring): Unofficial Transcript – Bachelor’s Degree or progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree + 3.0 GPA.
Summer: None.
