A multi-layered text analysis approach to the basic and more advanced techniques for acting the works of the most-produced playwright in the English language. Develop and refine work with Shakespeare's sophisticated language in the 1623 Folio and current editions. Use of text mapping that can be applied effectively to speaking any kind of text an actor might be asked to interpret. Scene study and work on monologues. One-hour-length showing of the worked monologues and scenes occurs at end of the semester. Some acting experience or familiarity with the works of William Shakespeare is recommended. No prerequisites.
